Mission Canyon - Santa Barbara
This is a restoration project after a wildfire. I used fire and drought resistant plants to create a beautiful, vibrant design that suits the new house. My fire and drought resistant design has proved sustainable and become even more pleasing for my clients over time.
Mt. Washington - Los Angeles
This project was a transformation of a barren front and back yard on new construction. It was a tricky hillside site that needed my carefully thought out design to hold the hillside and create a beautiful garden within a drought resistant design. The deck needed careful design and permitting was required. The results are stunning, using succulents and Palo Verde trees and my beautifully designed concrete stairs and retaining walls. All were expertly installed by the brilliant landscape contractor I like to work with.
Thousand Oaks Townhouse
This townhouse needed everything for its new landscape design. My landscape contractor built a brand new drainage system. Beautiful new fences were built. The site needed sound screening design and privacy design. The rotting pergola was replaced by a custom designed and built modern redwood pergola. Climbing Roses will grow on it to create shade. I designed custom concrete slabs to be poured in place. The patio trapezoids had pebbles between while the concrete stepping stones were set in well compacted decomposed granite, a feature designed for their dog. Fountains were added to mask road noise. I added a Japanese Privet hedge and Bay Laurel Trees for privacy and noise block. A fence topper was added on top of the West wall. I was able to design 3 different garden areas for my clients. The noise reduction is immediately noticeable. The transformation is breathtaking.
Lake Hollywood - Los Angeles
This house has an incredible view over Lake Hollywood. The landscape design on the view side was kept simple. The entry garden was made into an intimate outdoor living and gathering space. My hardscape design of an inviting path connects the two areas creating another outdoor space as well.
Mid-Century - Santa Barbara
For a clean and modern look to complement this mid-century home, I designed beautiful concrete rectangles with Mexican pebbles between and a completely new planting of exotic, water-wise trees, shrubs and perennials. I enjoyed this beautiful exercise in hardscape design and garden design. My client was pleased beyond expectations with this perfect mid-century landscape design for her Cliff May designed house.
Los Altos Landscape Update
To make a beautiful and useable front yard I designed a new paver driveway . Then I added all new drought tolerant design plantings. I added raised vegetable beds to take advantage of the south facing light and per my client's request. There are Olive trees growing for shade. This is truly an outdoor living design at the end of a cul de sac. My clients enjoy their neighbors and the children are able to easily join the neighbor children in play. For the back yard I designed a bocce ball court which can be enjoyed near the barbecue and fire pit.
